How do i change a alternator?

I have a 95 nissan maxima and i cann't get to my alternator from the top so do i have to drop the motor to get to it,if so how do i go by doing that? How do i change a alternator?Boy this is weird, I just did one of these on an Infinity I30 yesterday, same engine and similar body.

Remove the cooling fan + shroud assy.

Loosen the idler pulley and remove the alternator belt.

Remove the right undercover, (the alternator is going to come out from the bottom).

Remove the right side cover.

Remove the 4 AC compressor bolts so you can slide it forward.

Remove the large battery feed wire.

Remove the upper alternator bolt.

Lean the alternator toward the radiator and remove the other alternator plug on top.

It may take some prying to get the lower part of the alternator off the bracket.

You are going to move the AC compressor toward the radiator and toward your right and the alternator will come out the side. It will be tight but it will come out. The bottom radiator hose will be a little in the way but it can stay on. It's a small pain in the butt. :)

*** Upon reassembly plug the alternator connector in first, you can put the lower bolt in to hold it up then lean the alternator outward to do this. It's almost impossible to do it after the top alternator bolt is in.How do i change a alternator? You need to take the front of the car off.

Remove radiator, remove radiator supports, then if necessary remove front bumper assembly. good luck.
