Does anyone know to remove the front axle on a 2002 Ford Escape,2WD V-6?

I am trying to change the alternator and cannot figure out how to remove the axle to get at it.Does anyone know to remove the front axle on a 2002 Ford Escape,2WD V-6?ok jack up the front an use a jack stand remove the wheel and the brakes then you'll see a big nut remove the hub an then pull out the axle shaft
